Fibre Clips

When a cable is coupled, clips are used to hold the coupling firmly so it doesn’t get damaged in any way, making installation easier and also allowing for the cables to be placed wherever they need to be. Fibre clips are frequently used in conjunction with array trays or separately with adhesive pads (RMS-143).

Fibre Reels

Fibre reels are used to roll up any unwanted lengths of cable. Reels can accommodate bare to ruggedised fibre and be screw or adhesive pad mounted. Cable guides help make installation straightforward by offering a precise way to move the delicate cables. Other accessories available include strain relief boots through to fibre reel stand-offs and stacking pillars.

• Straight Guides - Manufactured from UL 94 V0@ 0.4mm flame-retardant nylon. Controls fibre routing in straight line.
• Fibre reel stacking pillar – Manufactured from UL 94 V-O nylon and allows all types of reel to be stacked, simple mounting using single rivet or screw

Array Trays

These modular systems incorporate reels and clips in one simple application and are moulded in high temperature plastic. The trays hold, organise and protect spliced fibres from any damage.

Receptacles

Adapters

These are used to align fibre optic connectors. Metal adapters have tight tolerances and are available for single or multi-mode operation. Reusable bare fibre adapters are ideal for testing before terminating the cable. All types come with a range of mountings.

FC PM Connector ‘R’ Type (Narrow Key)

FC-PM and SMA (narrow and wide key) connectors are used to terminate the ends of optical fibres. They enable quicker connection and disconnection than splicing by mechanically coupling and aligning the cores of the fibres so light can pass through them.

Plastic Polishing Puck

EFA64-XX-XXX

One of the last steps of fibre-optic connector installation is polishing and pucks help ensure a clean polish with a minimum of scratches on the fibre’s endface. The pucks are suitable for use with LC, MU (1.25mm) and ST, FC, DIN, SC (2.5mm) connectors and hold them in place so it is easier to apply pressure evenly while polishing.

Cleanliness is of paramount importance in fibre optics and, with the end of the smallest single-mode cable measuring just 5-10 microns (millionths of a metre), it is very easy for the smallest speck of dirt to block the optical signal. The caps are available as single use or reusable; in metal or plastic; and a wide range of colours.
